Ultimate vision with high quality lenses

B.I.G Lenses (Biometric Intelligent Glasses)

Discover the sharpest possible vision with exact biometric lenses by Rodenstock: B.I.G. EXACT™. Book an appointment today and get a eye test for exact biometric lenses with the DNEye® Scanner at Mirage Opticians.

DNEye Scan

This technology is unique worldwide and gives you razor-sharp and high contrast vision particularly at twilight. With DNEye lenses you can make full use of their individual vision potential.

Unlike traditional measuring devices, the DNEye Scanner not only records the standard values for myopia (short-sightedness) and hyperopia (long sightedness) and corneal curvature, but far more.

For Example, the reaction of your pupil during the day and at night as well as the corresponding changes in vision.

This way individual aberrations are also detected, which are responsible for reduced contrast sensitivity and poor vision at twilight.

LayR Coatings

Our premium lens coatings are designed to protect your vision and extend the life of the eyewear. From anti-glare coatings that reduce screen reflection to scratch-resistant layers, we offer options to suit every lifestyle. For active adults, our coatings provide added durability, ensuring clear vision even with regular wear and tear.

Our optometrists can recommend the best coating for adult lenses based on their activities and vision needs, providing reassurance that their eyes are shielded from potential strain or damage. At Mirage, we help safeguard your vision with reliable, high-quality coatings that last.

Xtra Clean

Experience crystal-clear vision with Xtra Clean lenses from Rodenstock—designed to repel dust, dirt, and smudges for longer-lasting clarity. These ultra-smooth lenses stay exceptionally clean and resist fingerprints, so you can enjoy sharp, uninterrupted vision with minimal upkeep. Extra smooth. Extra clean.

Sunglasses

Polarised sunglasses are an essential accessory for protecting your eyes and enhancing visual comfort. Unlike regular lenses, polarised lenses are designed to reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water, snow, and roads, making them particularly useful for outdoor activities. This glare reduction allows for clearer, sharper vision, especially in bright environments, while also reducing eye strain.

In addition to polarisation, high-quality sunglasses should offer UVA and UVB protection. UVA and UVB rays are harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun that can cause lasting damage to your eyes, contributing to conditions such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and even cancer. By choosing sunglasses with 100% UVA and UVB protection, you can block these harmful rays and help maintain long-term eye health.

Maui Jim offer polarised lenses that combine advanced lens technology with full UV protection. Maui Jim’s sunglasses have earned the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation as an effective UV filter for the eyes and surrounding skin. Maui Jim’s lenses enhance colour, clarity, and contrast while ensuring optimal eye safety. So, whether you’re hitting the beach, skiing, or driving, polarised sunglasses with UV protection are a stylish, functional way to shield your eyes and improve your visual experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We’re here to help. Find answers to our most frequently asked questions below to make your Mirage experience as smooth and informed as possible.

What types of spectacle lenses are available?

There are several types of spectacle lenses to choose from, including single vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses. Single vision lenses correct for one field of vision, while bifocal lenses help with both near and far vision. Progressive lenses provide a seamless transition between distances without visible lines. Our optometrists can help you choose the best lenses based on your prescription and lifestyle.

How do I choose the right spectacle lenses for my prescription?

Choosing the right lenses depends on your specific vision needs. If you have a strong prescription or need lenses for specific tasks (e.g., reading or driving), specialized lenses like high-index lenses, aspheric lenses, or photochromic lenses may be a good fit. Our optometrists will work with you to select lenses that offer the best visual clarity, comfort, and durability.

What is the difference between standard lenses and high-index lenses?

High-index lenses are thinner and lighter than standard lenses, making them a great option for individuals with strong prescriptions. These lenses reduce the thickness and weight of your glasses, providing a more comfortable and stylish solution without compromising vision quality.

Do spectacle lenses come with coatings?

Yes, spectacle lenses can be enhanced with various coatings, such as anti-reflective, scratch-resistant, UV protection, or blue light filtering coatings. These coatings improve the durability, clarity, and comfort of your lenses, and they can be tailored to your specific needs, such as for digital screen use or outdoor activities.
