What is a DNEye Scan?
A standard glasses prescription tells us important information about your eyesight, such as whether you are short-sighted or long-sighted and how much correction you need.
The DNEye Scanner goes a step further. It takes additional measurements of your eyes, including how your pupils change in different lighting conditions and small imperfections in the way light travels through the eye.
Why is that useful? Your eyes do not work in exactly the same way in bright daylight as they do in dim lighting. By collecting more detailed information, the DNEye Scan can help create biometric lenses that are designed more closely around your individual eyes.
How does DNEye technology create B.I.G. EXACT Sensitive lenses?
The process is easier to understand than it may sound:
DNEye Scan → detailed eye measurements → a model of your individual eye → B.I.G. EXACT lens design → lenses made for you
Rodenstock uses the measurements collected by the DNEye Scanner when calculating B.I.G. EXACT® Sensitive lenses. This helps create a more personalised lens design, rather than basing your prescription glasses only on standard prescription figures.
This technology can be used for both varifocals and single vision lenses.
